Chiropractic + Massage
Therapy Can Enhance the Benefits of Both Modalities
Many chiropractors and
massage therapists have come to understand that
when an individual is seeking treatment for a
chronic condition, utilizing both chiropractic
and massage therapy in conjunction can enhance
the benefits of both modalities.
While chiropractic realigns
the spine and joints, and manipulates hard
tissues, massage therapy manipulates the soft
tissues such as the muscles, fascia, tendons and
ligaments.
Overcoming Chronic Pain Due
to Muscle Memory
Often, muscle memory enables
chronic pain, in which case soft tissue pulls
the vertebra out of alignment. By using massage
therapy to soften the muscles and attaching
tendons related to the misalignment, the muscles
are then able to better conform to the
chiropractic adjustment.
Consequently, it is
worthwhile to employ both modalities to
stabilize the musculoskeletal system together
rather than expecting one system on its own to
transform the whole.
